Oh My My My!
I realize at last
That my present ideas
Are all in the Past

Quite a Gap!

Quite a Gap!

The more that I think
I know what to claim
The next generation
Is revising the game

The kids that I see
Who have many more votes
Think much younger than me
And they laugh at my quotes

If I say, “That’s Swell!”
They look at me funny
They think I’m a nutcase
For saving my money

But I’m just an old-timer
An antique on the nook
I’m classed as a throwback
Like a history book

I don’t text while working
I don’t drink Red Bull
I still frown on shirking
My nights are not full

I think like a geezer
I dress like a nerd
I’m always a pleaser
My path undeterred

The young ones get younger
While I count my pills
My peers get outnumbered
By fertility mills

So what do I do now?
My wisdom is dated
I don’t have a clue now
My future seems fated

I look at the chasm
Between them and me
And ponder at Facebook
The “friends” I can’t see

My children are aging
My grandchildren none
So I perk up my hobbies
And follow the sun.
